lol maybe i should... since 2008 i smoked more, cursed more, slept less, drank more beer, spent less time being social, put on more weight, read less, wasted more money, did not fall in love, started listening to crappier music, realized that: no there is no there is no meaning of life. oh... and i got a tan... can it get worse?

New Year's Resolutions? Empty Re: New Year's Resolutions?

You could have a massive school loan to pay off and have to deal with a company who isn't wanting to pay you for the work they contracted you to do and have your credit card number stolen...though that last one is kinda resolving itself now...in addition to the stuff you listed, sans the smoking, beer, and crappy music.
2008 was not a good year.

In our family, we write down three goals/resolutions for the year and share them with the family. So far mine are:
1. Treat my ADD
2. Finally unleash Oddly Fashioned upon the world rry
3. Being more social/being a better friend tongue

I don't even bother with the weight thing anymore, lol...I don't even remember what my 2008 resolutions were, probably the same things and to be more organised, ha! Yay! New Year! cheers

New Year's Resolutions? Empty Re: New Year's Resolutions?

Post by Donald effin' Duck Thu Jan 01, 2009 12:07 pm

I usually hate even the idea of resolutions, but this year I have one:

Never, ever again get as drunk as I did last night.

Before you start pointing and laughing- NO, I do not have a hangover, and NO, I did not get into a fight or do anything else stupid. I've just realized that being blind, stinking, staggering drunk (I could scarcely see straight) is actually a pretty miserable state of being. From now on, no more than two or three drinks at a time for me.

Yea, I did that once too. Drink so much that I could never be so careless again with the consumption.

Yeah, my list will probably include that one too. Not an all out ban, a good beer or glass of wine with a meal is always yummy, but giving it up most of the time will be a positive change for me. A drink now and then v. "drinking". I am also giving up the meds and trying it the natural way, best of luck to both of us. cheers

I am also considering a raw food or a no processed food diet for a month or so. Just to see how much better I might actually feel if I eliminate all the crap.

For me, it's not that I drink too much, *like some people...*New Year's Resolutions? Giant_Beer

My ear condition affects my balance and other stuff, and alcoholic and sugary beverages seem to aggravate the madness. My ear just wants me to have less and less fun every year. Boo!

Incorporating more raw foods in my diet does seem like a good option too, and it would give me a another reason to replace my food processor that's been kaputt for quite a while now...that is kinda mostly the reason I don't eat as healthy as I used to.
I am very excited, though, because my dad decided for one of his resolutions that he was going to start eating less meat and eat Boca burgers and Fakin' Bacon and Quorn such. Yay!

I so understand what you are saying. One mixed drink is usually enough for me.
