Re: Anybody ever explored any deep caverns?

Post by Maurice the Zombie on Mon Feb 09, 2009 11:32 pm

I once read an article of a group of scientist who went into a cave to find a rare tarantula.

Now this certain tarantula is HUGE and they really wanted to find it, so they went further and further in.

They had come so far that there was only enough room to crawl forward, so they are in a really cramped space, when they find it, and at once the HUGE tarantula attacks the camera man!

Imagine being in a dark cave where you can't even stand up on your knees and at the same time having a HUGE tarantula attacking you, and the only thing your comrades do is to shout "Don't hurt it! It's a very rare species!".

So I think I'll stay out of caves.

But my sister has explored mud caves in China.
They flipped out and started imitating Gollum in the mud...
Must have been fun indeed.

wow, your sister has been to china.. and I don't even know what a mud cave is..?

But yea, there is something thought just grabs my imagination when it comes to deep caverns ... maybe because of all the possibilities of where they might lead.. and to what they might lead. gg

No, thank you. The whole height thingie aside, I do not want to risk disturbing some sort of great Lovecraftian horror. *yes, this is an actual fear of mine.*

And with our dear Zombie's comment about giant tarantulas, hell, even with the thought of bumping into little spiders, which is much more likely to happen than awakening Cthulu, my answer would have to be 'Dear God, NOOOOO!!!!'

Now I have horrible images of giant spiders attacking me in my sleep, fantastic. Thanks a lot vivid imagination!

That sounds much less scary and much more wimpy, meaning, I'd totally do it. ;D

I hate parasites. All those godless worms, bugs and creepy crawlies.

Ditto.
If it's got no legs or more than four and isn't cute and cuddly, I don't like it...exceptions to this rule are the octopi, hexapi, and most other Cephalopoda; they are very cute and cuddly.

I have often been told that I behave like I'm still 12, so should I ever wander over to those caves, I may just make it through to the other side! Just hopefully not the Other side. *elf
