Absolutely...Jon Stewart is thought of as "joker/comedian" but in reality he is actually very well informed and very intelligent. You would have know about the issues to make fun of them in an intelligent way. 90% of the guests on his show are writers of some kind. More often than not he has read their book before interviewing them. And he interviews people from all sides and is well read on all view points.

It is really sad that Tucker Carlson is comparing his news to Stewart's. Although Stewart's show is actually very informative, it is not meant to be real news. Yet, his show somehow offers a more factual source of news, than what was "crossfire", or is CNN aka "the news". No

Comedy is performed in a different venue today. Before the comedians who spoke the truth, intelligently and humorously were in small comedy clubs, like Carlin or Pryor, who started out in Greenwhich Village at Cafe Wha? (along with Dylan I love you and others)...Now it is on a comedy station. Same honesty and wit, just different forums and time. Cool

More than anything, Stewart is open minded. He studies all ideas and admits when he is wrong and honestly listens to others' points of views. Unlike most people, who approach most situations with their mind made up, regardless of the facts.

So true. I usually get very strange looks when admitting this, but I get most of my current event info from 'The Daily Show'. The way he presents current events, its not just the humor that makes his show appealing, by making fun of what's going on in the world and how people react, it really makes you stop and think about why we think or react that way...and sometimes its just hilarious.

i agree... both he and colbert hides it to keep character but sometimes they forget and then you see the real mind behind. they are really if noting else doing satire based on the other news teams out there
