That sounds perfect ~ it's close enough to the goblin and troll folk and also to the mischievous Nereids and Lovecraftian horrors of the Deep!Fräulein Michelle wrote:Personally to be right smack in the middle of a heavily wooded forest close enough to hear the ocean is the perfect place for me.
Re: City , Suburb or Country?
oceans are overrated, cold, windy and salty.
give me a big weird looking house where nothing is symmetrical, a fireplace, a library, a roof that is climbable and a huge ancient tree in the garden. in the woods just outside a small town with a train station so you can get in to a large city quick. a lake would be nice, but swedish woods are epic enough already...

well the waters round scania are what we call "bräckt", meaning both kinds of waters in the same sea, so it's not horribly salt, not compared to many others. still cold most of the time thoughAsh wrote:ecthelion of the fountain wrote:oceans are overrated, cold, windy and salty.

But you see, the sight of ancient crumbling cliffs being crashed upon by the ominously violent waves of the ocean provides the perfect photo shoot opportunity for a Mysterious Mystical OtherWorldly Pre-Raphaelite Sea-Nymphe to show off her tempest-conguring skills...and her pretty dresses.ecthelion of the fountain wrote:oceans are overrated, cold, windy and salty.

do you know how evil the wind is around those kind of places? i'd rather live an hours drive away than having to live in that wind everyday

Re: City , Suburb or Country?
I love the EVIL wind.
Then again, I live in southern CA, we have such mediocre weather here that it's exciting for me when we have windy or rainy days. Most days we just have the glowing orb brightly beating down upon us, preventing me from dressing as elaboratly as I want. = P

Re: City , Suburb or Country?
well it's getting crazy over here, because of global warming we suddenly have anual winter storms.i remember when the first one came and they said it was the strongest in like 30 years, now we get one pretty much every year. the 2nd or 3rd one i remember in particular and was nuts. whole forests was ripped out of the ground. and forests are valuble sheisse, the land owners had to apply for use of crazy strong poision so that the wood wouln't get runed before they could get it all inside. that still happends but just spots here and there, that time whole woods where sudenly plains and whole roofs with tiles and everything flew away, i rember hearing on the radio about a lady that was stupid enough to walk her dog and actully flew straight up into the air towards her death. during one storm i was actually bikeing home when it started, i had to throw myself with bike and everything to the ground and hold on like 5 times because the wind caught the bike and tried to carry straight into the road

Holy bloody crap!i rember hearing on the radio about a lady that was stupid enough to walk her dog and actully flew straight up into the air towards her death. during one storm i was actually bikeing home when it started, i had to throw myself with bike and everything to the ground and hold on like 5 times because the wind caught the bike and tried to carry straight into the road
That is some evil wind...we don't get that down here and hopefully never will.
We've actually been experiencing a heat wave, which sorta irritates me as we don't have 'cold' weather for very long to begin with and now we have this lousy mini-summer, but perhaps the mediocre weather is not so bad after reading what the Swedish folk have to deal with.
