yea, I've been playing it on pc while I have been horribly sick. It is greatness.
I love the v.a.t. system.. which is an improvement over the Oblivion fighting framework too, imo.
Re: Video Games
Yeah, VATS is pretty awesome. Watching heads explode in bullet time never fails to amuse me.
How far along are you? What kind of equipment, what skills, etc.?

Re: Video Games
oh,, not that far along.. I nuked that first camp though, and my home base is in tenpenny tower or whatever. I am evil enough to have those lawbringer or whatever guys seeking my out. . I think I'm like level 8 or something. Been in the hospital the last three days so I haven't played since then.
I like alot of the weapons, I like how they make you have to be versatile, because some weapon only work well on certain enemies, no matter how cool they are.

Re: Video Games
Yeah, you prolly shouldn't have nuked Megaton. Unless you're able to access the seedier towns (such as Evergreen Hills and Paradise Falls), there really aren't many places to stock up on supplies- I can think of maybe three big towns I've been to besides the Citadel, and Megaton is one of them. Nuking it off the map not only lost you a valuable trading spot, but also a whole heap of quests and potential XP. I hope the reward was worth it.
Heh, my character is pretty much the opposite of yours. I'm a total goody-goody, doing quests without asking for rewards and slaying evildoers left and right. Talon Company is chasing me all over the countryside (their contracts read that I'm a "white knight" do-gooder that needs to be cut down to size)... pretty soon I'm gonna find their home base and waste it. I mean, I've already taken out one nest of miscreants (Evergreen Hills... I killed the entire town except for the slaves, the smuggler, and the Super Duper Mutant in the cage) so I may as well eradicate another one.
I'm also level 16 with a suit of Enclave power armor and a heaping pile of weaponry- my standard weapons are a Chinese AR, combat shotgun, sniper rifle, and flamethrower. So yeah, pwnage on a stick.

Re: Video Games
combat shotgun is good, especially up close and personal with one of those pesky super mutants.

Re: Video Games
Intel 2,33 GHz processor, 3,25 Gb RAM, Radeon HD 4850 graphic card (512Mb DDR3 RAM).
I've considered Fallout 3 and CoD. I loved the older CoD, so I guess the new one won't let me down

Re: Video Games
yea. you can play anything with that hardware, although if your processor is just a "single" processor.. instead of a dual processor or more... that could cause some problems.. but meh.. probably nothing major
Re: Video Games
Dang, I haven't played PC games in a while. I'd definitely recommend Fallout 3, though.
I just got Call of Duty 5 and Mirror's Edge not too long ago. Both are excellent, though Mirror's Edge can get pretty frustrating at times.

Not really. I actually got those last two with some sorely belated birthday money.
I sold Mirror's Edge today, btw... it was just too annoying. When I sit down to play a game, I want to have fun, and for me that's being able to progress through the game at a reasonable clip without wanting to curse and throw the controller at the screen.
I used the money to get Gun, Painkiller, and Quake 4... mindless shoot-em-ups ftw! Well, I don't guess Gun is completely mindless, but you get my drift.

Re: Video Games
I think Fallout 3 would be classified as a drug when it comes to me, so I better just leave it be.
And anyway, Zombies aren't allowed to play games.
So it wouldn't matter anyhow.

Beat CoD 5 last night and unlocked Nazi Zombies... now all I need to do is interest someone else in it enough to play it co-op.

...and THAT is why the PC is no longer my gaming platform of choice. The amount of money and time you have to sink into keeping your rig up to speed (read- able to play current games, on reasonably high detail levels) is just ridiculous. When I buy a game for my 360 or Wii, I know that the system will play it. No installation, no costly hardware upgrades, no patching, no hassle. Just sit down, pop the game into the machine, and start playing. Sure, the graphics aren't quite as sharp as a high-end PC, and the controls aren't as precise for certain games (mouse and keyboard will ALWAYS be the best possible FPS control scheme). But in the end, the complete lack of hardware-related headaches and the extra bucks in my pocket are well worth it.
Also, got Left 4 Dead for Christmas. It's pretty good so far, I'm really looking forward to trying co-op play.
