Yea, I was feeling like crap in the hospital, now I'm feeling like crap at home. I hope I actually can feel normal again soon.
Re: American Politiks
I do hope you get lots of rest and make a speedy recovery! I know all too well the suckage that goes with feeling unwell in the hospital.
Re: American Politiks
thanks.. yea.. it does suck.. especially since I'm still waiting to hopefully get better. It's hasn't been going too well, and I don't even have medical insurance still. That definitely relates to why I hope Obama gets elected.
Hopefully God will provide and let me be healed.

Re: American Politiks
they did a poll on european facebook, it was obama 73% mccain 13% other/blank the rest...
so if he wins i think america once again have the chance to be that shining city on a hill. right now when the average european thinks usa he think bush... a retarded redneck cowboy. resulting in massive amounts of tapes like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJuNgBkloFE
i hope that can change with obama

Amen to that!
Your situation reminds me of that gal from my church I had mentioned a while back; reminds me of how according to her, people from all over the world come to the States for the wonderful health care...Thankfully, my dad being a state employee, I'm covered under his insurance for, I think, one more year.
Re: American Politiks
I'd like to think that the interviewers had to interview many, many people before they found what they were looking for (dummies), but who knows, and yes, hopefully that image will change.ecthelion of the fountain wrote:they did a poll on european facebook, it was obama 73% mccain 13% other/blank the rest...

Re: American Politiks
Well, i don't really care about image, it's all the crap Bush has done that sucks.. and/or not done.
That being said, there is a benefit to having a better image with some of our strongest allies. Of course. Funny how even just having Obama in the white house would improve our image almost immediately. Or is it just having Bush out of the White House? haha.
What I can't even imagine would be having Sara Palin in the White house... arrghh... that would be some scary stuffz for me.

Re: American Politiks
well standing here on the other side of the sea mccain and bush looks liek twins... mccain likes to say "i'm not bush" but in reality he shares bushes ideals and veiws on how to run the economy, the army, and the country. i can say this much, obama is very popular in Europe, if McCain went over here for political career he wouldn't even get into the parlament

Re: American Politiks
How nice is ti having a President who is great Orator again as well? Do you hear that speech tonight? Regardless of whether you like him or not.. wow.
Re: American Politiks
Well, I think you know I watched every second of the coverage.
The speech was great...but what moved me the most was the crowd, in particular the African-American people...They had tears in their eyes...and it was very sincere...
One in particular, Jesse Jackson, who I don't completely trust, for many reasons...but in all fairness, he was standing next the Martin Luther King Jr. when he was killed and that must have had a great impact on him...So to see Mr. Jackson standing there in tears was rather moving. And those who know me, know of my fascination/appreciation with the early 60's / civil rights movement...blah blah blah...
I guess it was nice to think I am experiencing that type of thing, not just reading about, watching or listening to stories about what once was...I felt the same emotion I get when I watch old footage and documentaries about the different moments when America was a force for good and justice.

Re: American Politiks
Yeah, seeing all the faces of the people in crowd that got to me in the end...once the camera panned over to Oprah in tears, I couldn't hold it in anymore!
I can still hear people here cheering outside, its such a wonderful feeling!

Re: American Politiks

Re: American Politiks
you should listen to the speech he gave too... it is most eloquent... which is a nice change after 8 years of Bush.
Re: American Politiks
i've seen the first half now... i seriously believe his face will go to history as a immortal icon. people will wear t-shirts similar to Che Guevara's long after his death. i wonder what dr.king would have said if he was alive today, only 45 years after his speech.

haha, Che Guevara is a bad person to compare him too.. considering he was a communist revolutionary .
But I would wait to see how it all pans out before we see how his fame will be.
I'm definitely hoping for the best and glad though. elf
Re: American Politiks
dude, have you been to europe? Cuban cigars are cheap and legal here. i have even talked to two different swedish gentlemen who went there to help in the revolution, swedes are always welcome to coma and go in cuba. not surprisingly the swedish prime minister during the cuba crisis is the only one that has never been in the white house. on the other hand he was the one with the highest IQ, and is today because of that he was shoot, to many swedes what Kennedy was to many americans.
i guess my point is, in Europe no other print of a famous face from the last 500 years has probably ever been sold more.
